My soul that overflows humanity can not endure so much injustice

"My soul that overflows humanity can not endure so much injustice" is a phrase that the activist, Eduardo Miño, wrote in his brave suicide letter in 2001, before self-immolating in front of “La Moneda”, the presidential headquarters of Chile. His death was his protest to reveal an industrial genocide, where the government censored asbestos victims to support the Pizarreño company.
On October 18, 2019, the Chileans rebelled in the streets moved by feminism, ecology, education, fed up with a corrupt elite and social inequality. They were setting new limits against these deaf authorities and their structural abuse to humans and nature.
Miño’s fight was part of people’s empowerment to make history on July 4, 2021. They started to create a new constitution of Chile, replacing the one instituted in 1980 by the dictator Pinochet.

This work won the Special Prize by ArteJoven 2020 UV, a prestigious award in Chile. It was created during the violence and pain, but also hope towards this victory.
